A young man, Kenji Sato, struggles to gain his father's approval when he decides to change to a sport that his father loathes. The father and son grow further apart, while the son feeds off a new mentor. Kenji and his mentor have one common goal:Glory. They seek it for themselves, for their country, and for each other. An earlier influence in the young man's life, his grandfather, stands by his grandson's will, offering his love and words of wisdom. Kenji faces the challenges life throws at him: religious intolerance, love, and becoming a man. Tension mounts as the father and son are caught between pride and love, common sense and anger, while the son doggedly tries to complete his quest.
